Police In Edo State Rescues Priest From The Claws Of Kidnappers

A priest, Reverend Canon Tony Mukoro, has been rescued by the operatives of the Police command in Edo State from the den of kidnappers. According to SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the Police public Relation Officer, the incident happened on Tuesday March 19, 2024 in Benin, as one AK 47 rifle, one expended AK 47 shell, two pump action guns, 14 live cartridges, one cap and a bag were recovered from the suspects. The cleric was abducted by suspected hoodlums at Isihor community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state on his way to his house in his car. Chidi the PPRO further stated that the Divisional Police Office in Ugbowo, Benin, got a distress call informing him that kidnappers accosted the victim in his Toyota Highlander car and whisked him away. The operatives on hearing that, swung into action and intercepted the vehicle engaging the kidnappers who were armed to the teeth in a gun battle. They were eventually overpowered as they fled.
